The comment by "Tim" is entertaining, but only partially correct, per example, I always find statements like the following to be rather humorous:
Now some of that -- the "end goal" and that "Feminism is Marxism" -- is entirely true.
What isn't true though is that that is where it will "end." It won't "end" there because -- despite Marx's bullshit claims, "socialism" is not some "last stage" of societal evolution, but rather simply a wholly perverse "inversion" of a society -- socialism/marxist "civilizations" (if they can even be called that unironically) are by definition self-destructive, they are an "UN-civilizational" movement -- they only survive for (historically speaking) relatively short times (usually less than one human lifespan), essentially only so long as it takes them to eat up the saved "seed corn" of the society that they take over, and so long as the infrastructure (both physical and social) of that civilization endures (as it slowly crumbles through neglect and abuse). Exactly how long that is depends on how much seed corn has been saved (and of how much other adjacent nations are willing to "gift" it), and how robust the infrastructure was.
Per example this:
Is nonsense. Sweden is currently in a transition; when it became socialist it already was (i.e. started off as) as both a very wealthy, "hard work ethic," and a "high trust" society -- each of those things has been steadily eroded and undermined during the past several decades of "socialism" -- the wealth has been squandered (and much of what ostensibly remains is merely "notational" wealth, that is an accounting illusion or fantasy, rather than real assets); the work ethic has been subverted, and the "trust" has essentially been destroyed... Sweden (like the other Nordic & European "socialist" states) has peaked and begun it's downward slide.
A better example of the "future of the world" (i.e. the future of so called "socialist" states) would be Venezuela; which is much further along the path and approaching full-blown collapse.
Another example would be Russia -- under Putin -- as an example of (one possible) societal reconstruction path that can/will take place in the aftermath of the socialist/marxist societal collapse (there are of course other possible post-socialist paths, most of them far worse).

The George Gilder book wasn't wrong, just early and likely put everyone in the same basket. From my view point, there are two classes forming the US: The have nothings and the haves. There are those who are ultra haves (ie: Rich), but for the most part, if two adults act appropriate in their spending habits, get an education or special skill set, it doesn't take much money to live a fairly comfortable life in most places in the US.
What I'm seeing in my Midwest area is that the rural, small city/town areas are becoming just like the inner city areas. Kids are being born out-of-wedlock, these guys aren't doing the "right thing" anymore and getting married. The economic situation is so bleak that many of these young people party and pain pills became a popular thing to take to get high. We now have many cities and towns with huge heroin problems. Numerous ODs, one region where 200ish people have contracted HIV due to shooting an opium based pain medicine.
One the flip side, I work with many young people who are college educated. About 1/4th-1/3rd of the small groups I end up working with will have serious relationships early in life, some hold overs from high school. About half or so will likely have had nothing during high school and depending on how they change, will either hookup for years (even if they want a relationship), date around and get some STRs, or some might find someone wanting an LTR. It could be a mix as well. About 1/4th of the guys seem to want to hook up, to them it is all about no feelings, 100% casual NSA, and quantity (quality depends on the guy). Lots of these NSA guys proudly claim that they don't see settling down until they are close to 30, and a few say they will never get married. The future of the country really depends on this group of guys. The educated, decent to high income earners, and what they do in terms of marriage and having kids. Even those who might have partied for two or three years in college and seriously talking marriage already with current LTRs. I do think there is some hope for this younger generation, they seem to be open more about sex, but they also seem to be rejecting the "you must be non-monogamous and promiscuous until your 30s" lifestyle that some people write about.
Those people in the dying rust belt cities and towns with addiction problems and having kids out-of-wedlock are causing issues with social services. The old money (UAW union wage) is quickly drying up or moving out. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
