this won't change anything except remove the troubles of pregnancy for women. so once again male technology will greatly improve the lives of women. laws will be put in place to ensure only women have rights over this reproduction as babies will still need a mother to breastfeed and nurture. it doesn't matter if a man could fulfill this role as a woman is naturally better at it. it's surprising how logical they can be when it suits them. another double standard hurdle will be hit with gays, binarywhatever etc. squeal for the right to adopt babies. the social engineering will be adjusted so that gays can't adopt a kid before two years, the straight men will say yes that's how it should be gays shouldn't have babies, the women who were previously on the gays side will suddenly switch as soon as the media tells them to to now say that men, including gays, should not have any rights over babies as that's a woman's natural role, and the gays will then accept it.

I see it different:

The tech will eventually lead to defacto cloning. And likely being able to continue physical growth beyond normal gestation. ie able to create full grown adults, in a matter of maybe 24-36 months?

Then could be combined with cerebrial imprinting like the mind downloads the Transhumanists are heading towards. ie you could clone yourself and transfer consciousness into a new designer body.

Would also allow creating Synths with created consciousnesses. ie Pickle Jar Annie With the body, DNA, & and personality chosen by person financing.

What i truly hope doesn't come out of some kind of synthetic womb is giving women the ability to have children at ANY point in their lives. Can you imagine 40+yr old post wall whores being able to have healthy children? Father time and biology keep women in check and they are still running batshit crazy all of the world... in check!

There are efforts underway to ban all research into this technology, which to me is criminal. The best hope for the long term survival of the human race is to send out thousands of seed colony ships packed with millions of frozen embryos and artificial wombs to gestate the first group of colonists. We could get started on this now and have the galaxy fully colonized in less than a million years without FTL tech.

I am hoping this technology will come into fruition in the next 5-10 years. This will certainly help to drive down the high cost of a commercial surrogacy currently only legal in some countries; excluding the one I unfortunately live in. This is a good idea but studies still show that kids do better in two parent house holds. Just because most women abuse their kids by withholding the father doesn’t mean we should plan on doing that to our future children to stick it to women. I don’t have a real solution but two wrongs don’t make a right. Don’t become the thing you dislike the most (a heartless person only thinking of yourself who abuses their kids out of spite for the opposite gender).

I see this as a relieve for women as well. This relieves them from the burden of having babies for humankind's existenc, hence they can now be fully independent and focus on their careers. There's no need for marriage and so no patriarchal oppression from men.

Technically men can just move to a men only country or planet and men and women can live seperately peacefully.

I can't wait until this day comes.
