I had a convo about this with my ex wife. I told her the same damn thing; that it’s literally stupid to expect me to always have to move it back and forth for her. And I asked her “what is the fucking deal with women on this issue??” She said “women demand men to operate the toilet seat because it’s nasty and we don’t wanna touch it”.

I’m a man over 50. I put the seat down every time because I’m a civilized human. I also put the cap back on the toothpaste, all the jars in the fridge get lids put back on, I fold the bag in cereal boxes, and shut my mailbox. I also make sure the toilet is clean and dry for the next user. You people are a bunch of savages.
