This is one the many reasons I through my TV out and stopped paying the 142 a year TV license.

Been 10 years since I stopped watching TV, and my life became pretty darn amazing as a result. I was always into reading as a past time, but with no TV I suddenly had this massive amount of time on my hands, so I through myself into reading even more and educated myself even more.

I've build up a personal library of some 300 - 500 books (I occasionaly donate old books to charity shops when I buy new books, so the number fluctuates). I'm currently reading ancient texts on the early Roman empire. I'm also teaching myself Biblical Greek, Latin and Old English. I'm also studying ancient British law from manuscripts first written in the 700's. I also became a Grade 8 pianist as playing the piano is a passion of mine.

TV is a propaganda machine, nothing more and nothing less. It robs you of your most precious asset... TIME!

I saw that comment in the article "If aliens came to visit...". If aliens came to visit what? Who's to assume they even have a gender or understand the concept of it? Who's to say they would even care how we handled gender? What if they have genders too and find our all genders equal societal Mythos disgusting and decide to exterminate us? I think lacking the authority of a higher power, neoliberal thought police defer to the potential existence of aliens and how they would judge us if they decided to come to Earth. Two sides of the same coin as you guys keep on saying, left and right.
