Long time lurker here and throw-away account; Gonna keep it simple and just vent:

  • I'm the youngest brother (I'm 17) and I have an older sister (She's 27); My relationship with my sister has been nothing but a fucking headache because of her dumb decisions
  • My sister has been dating a divorced single father (35) for 5-6 years and they broke up a few months ago. Before my sister, the single father has a daughter with his ex wife and they share 50/50 legal custody. My sister and the single father ended up having a baby and they did not get married. I can't help but think my nephew is an accident no matter how much I love him. I get that marriage is not favorable nowadays and how expensive divorce, child custody is, etc.
  • My sister boasted that marriage is just a piece of paper, but I know deep down she wants a wedding (probably for attention) and for him to propose to her - she talks about wanting one time to time
  • She is a nurse and makes a lot money and often complains that she makes more $ than him
  • She complains that he puts his daughter first before her
  • She boasts about being strong and independent, but she says that she will have such high standards on her next partner. She got mad at me when I said "Well you better match those high standards" and she said, "Well I deserve the best!"

When she's not in the room, my whole family judges her for not marrying first and being a single mom no matter how much we seem to support her and my nephew. My family is very stable and the majority of my aunts and uncles, including my parents have happy, successful marriages. I honestly think my sister will die alone and not have a man to love her. I should be concerned, but deep down, I think no man deserves to put up with her entitled, obnoxious behavior. Only simps and desperate loners will date her.

Basically, my sister's behavior taught me to be mindful of what red flags I'll see in women when I enter the college and the workforce.
