Emotional support is a stretch as a benefit for men. The loneliest I have ever felt in my life is when I was married. I almost never feel lonely since my divorce.

I've never been married, but I've noticed that women are very good at going "aaahhhhh" and making exaggerated claims about how sorry they feel for random people, but not so good at sticking around when faced with an opportunity to actually help in any meaningful way.

That’s pretty much what happens with all this social media nonsense when, for example, a terrorist attack happens in France, and the social media sheep all put France’s flag as their profile pictures. It makes them feel like they are doing something supportive without actually doing anything that will make a difference. Very similar to what you described.

Great minds and all that. It’s crazy how women will profess “for better or for worse” in front of everyone but most of them aren’t really in it for the worse part.
I thought the marriage was good until I became severely depressed and then she just didn’t want to deal with me anymore. So much for that emotional support. Ironically, the divorce fixed a lot of my mental health issues. It’s really quite enlightening to realize that my depression is nowhere near as bad now as it was when I was married. I was so delusional about the marriage.

Same thing happened to me. I got depressed, and she found Chad. Maybe she found Chad and that made our marriage a living hell. I'm much happier now and not depressed.

Thanks. It’s pretty good overall. I hope yours is as well. It says something that so many men have the same thoughts about lack of emotional support. It’s reasonable to assume that such a thing would be present in a supposedly loving relationship. Shouldn’t that be a major component of every positive relationship? If it’s not, then what’s the point of the relationship? I have gotten more genuine sympathy from complete strangers. Even my ex wife’s sister, believe it or not, was taken aback by her sister’s behavior as far as I could tell, though I may be mistaken.
To be fair, my ex wife has been reasonable in the long run, especially compared to ex-wife horror stories that I have heard, but I was so shocked at the time how fast she turned on me. I was one of those naive, blue pill men that thought she would never do anything like that to me. Now that I have taken the red pill and accepted reality, I am not surprised by it any longer, but that initial abandonment and nonexistent emotional support blindsided me. The realization of the truth sucked but it has made me a more aware and stronger individual in the long run who won’t be fooled again.

We'd just going back in time wouldn't we ? Back in the day when men married they received a Dowry because I think they understood marrying and taking on the responsibility of a woman was a fucking burden. Sure men could have kids and build a family but it also meant another mouth to feed, more bodies to protect, and ultimately meant life was going to be more expensive.
They actually understood marriage was responsibility not some imagined honorable privilege
