I'm a bit lost on how to keep developing my professional career.

I'm currently leading a DevOps team after understanding that I'm not a great technician, average in the best case. I don't have any degrees, everything I know, I've learned myself, I'm self-taught.

It's really difficult for me to keep up with the rest of the team as I don't have a strong background. I'm just a former SysAdmin who understood that the only way to have a job is to convert to DevOps. I love to be a SysAdmin, I really enjoyed it but this position is quickly disappearing in the current IT world.

That's why I successfully got a more managing position, but now I don't know where to aim to keep growing as a professional. I'm good with people, I have a strong will to follow topics and get to the bottom of the issues and I'm successfully accomplishing my duties. My team is congratulating me about how am I doing in the new position (I was a DevOps engineer in this same team before).

I read about growing to a CTO position, about Project Manager, etc... But I'm not sure what to expect from these positions to be honest.

Could any of you bring some light to clarify these doubts?

I would really appreciate any advice or experience you could have.

Thanks!
