You can expect about 25% of your after tax W2 income unless you have extenuating circumstances like supporting other children. This assumes standard dad deal where you get every other weekend which is about 13% custodial time. It also assumes she makes about the same as you.

I pay child support for my kid in Tennessee. You just have to educate yourself on the state laws. And also bank on if your child’s mother is smart or dumb enough to use the court system against you. She could not know much and you could come out with $300 a month or she could be renewing that crap every time you get a new job or promotion and it’ll be a PITA.

Both you and her will fill out a financial affidavit, provide last 2 years tax returns, and then recent pay stubs. From there FL will determine child support during the time of the parenting agreement. The calculation depends upon how many overnights you have also.

In other words, without all those numbers it is impossible to determine any dollar amounts or percentages of income.

Capital gains are not subject to child support, but I would make sure to keep quiet about them because if she finds out you make $ off the stock market she will sue to have the child support increased.
