While we're on the topic, Citizen Kane is the single most overrated movie ever. I like a lot of old ass movies and can be thoroughly entertained, but Citizen Kane has put me to sleep twice. Most boring, overdrawn, unsatisfying movie I've ever watched for one so highly rated and even called the Greatest Movie of All Time™

Funny thing is... being anti-civilization, myself, I'd rather be a free and wild man than a domesticated one. The chains of civilization bind us all, man and woman and beast alike. The wisdom, skills, intellect, and abilities of undomesticated man are highly underrated. Most of us, in civilization, are fully comfortable taking credit for all of its marvels, and yet, we'd be lost and unable to recreate it, most of us, if we were thrust into the stone-age.

The only (long outdated) reason I see why we should thank women is that our early biological desire to reproduce motivated us to impress women with our accomplishments. Then men realized they liked feeling good about their accomplishments anyway, and women were just a nice side bonus.

Actually I'll add one more reason (current with the times) we should thank women, and that gratitude should be for their shitty behaviors and actions, without which many of us would still live in submission to women.

As much as I hate reality TV, there was one show (the name currently escapes me) that was a survival like challenge that separated groups by their gender. The men got along just fine: they built sturdy housing, had ample food, and were just prospering in general. The women were a complete mess and could not get anything accomplished and were overwhelmed by drama and cat-fights, and IIRC I think they literally had to beg to join the men so that they wouldn't starve to death.
