I'm a 27 year old with my own place, zero debt, no car (live in the city,) making 60k a year contributing heavily to 401k and starting to save and invest elsewhere. I have basically no bills other than rent and utilities. I will continue to get raises and am feeling very free and secure.

At this time the only thing I could imagine screwing up my life other than a health emergency is an unplanned pregnancy. I am usually safe and use condoms or make sure the girl is on an IUD, but mistakes can still happen. Here's one:

I had a stalker who used to sit outside my house for multiple days in a row, and she would send me pictures of my house asking me to come in. I kept saying no but she was pretty hot and one night she caught me when I was very drunk. She came in and we had sex and it was good and all, but could have seriously ruined my life if she got pregnant or had STD's. (I get tested after every partner, so I take it pretty seriously.) Funny how if the gender roles were reversed I'd definitely have a case that I was raped.

I live in Georgia and starting in January abortion will be illegal, AND leaving the state for abortion will be illegal also and you can be charged for murder. Meaning if I get a girl pregnant I'm trapped as fuck.

TLDR:

At this point I feel the wisest thing to do is get a vasectomy as I do not want to have kids in the near future, and possibly never. I am planning on getting a consultation but was wondering if any of you guys have had one and what your thoughts on it were.
