So I stumbled across this subreddit accidentally and didn't even know what MGTOW stood for until today. According to urban dictionary,

Men going their own way "are men who do not live for others anymore they live unapologetic lifestyle only for themselves. That means no kids no wife no problems in life. Some become mgtow after they already had kids or been married and they pay for their mistakes, later on in life in divorce courts.

Because mgtow feel betrayed as if society and women don’t give shit about them. They only view them as expendable containers, ATM machines, and sperm donors for reproduction purposes.

So as a response to toxic selfish society, they become selfish [people] who care about nothing but their own existence.

And live only for themselves !"

Is this accurate? If so, why did you choose this path for yourself? And has going your own way made you happy?

I ask these questions with genuine curiosity, and as someone who wants to understand why more and more men are feeling neglected by society. I can see why a lot of men feel disgruntled in today's world. The gender based struggles men face are ignored by main stream media and often when people try to speak about them, they're labeled as mysogonistic. As a result, I can see why many men feel attacked and as though their rights, predominantly their right to speech, are being taken away from them. I understand that many men feel threatened by current day feminism and the metoo movement, and I can see why. No one would like to live in a world where they can be locked up based on the word of another person. But what I want to understand is why you feel like this is the route to take. Like this is the way to effect change? To me, it seems to undermine and disadvantage the very thing you're trying to promote. You seem very antiwomen, and I hate to break it to you but approx 50% of the population is women. If we want to effect change, men and women need to work together. Radical feminism and radical MRA groups need to dissipate, and rather than shouting at each other, both men and women need to come to the table and realise that we aren't each others enemies. That we have both faced gender based stereotypes and gender based struggles and that to overcome them, we need to listen to each other and try and empathize with each other. And imo groups like this make it harder for us to reach this point.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. I'm interested to hear your responses and hopefully not just get downvoted to oblivion. This post wasn't made out of discontent or hate, just as one to spark discussion.
