I enjoy watching youtube on my days off, and think the ads are pretty annoying, however, for the less politically correct channels a pleasant side effect is that there are fewer intrusive ads which make for a more enjoyable viewing experience.

It's fucked up that there's no more passive ad revenue for these content producers, but it's much more enjoyable this way.

What's more - my time is valuable, and so I watch most videos at 2x speed and the ads are a waste of my time... I've been a patron of some content already (buying books, and such), and like it better this way with no middle man.
