While diamonds may be forever, diamond demand from consumers isn't... and that demand tends to collapse ahead of (and during) recessions.

Demand also tends to collapse ahead of (and during) the end of marriage as a concept. I suppose there'll be a niche use for "bling" purposes in... specific subcultures. But the times where a $10K+ ring is something your average guy is willing to shell out for, is over.

Heck, even if the bluepill guys would want to, they're up to their necks in college debt, they don't have that kind of money anymore. And the smart guys? They are buying homes, drones, bikes, cars and other things of practical value.

Face it, the ring-with-a-rock is part of the smashed patriarchy.

don't assume diamond sales equates to marriages. People could still be getting married with simple rings, or no ring at all. or still cohabitating. trendy types probably think its cool to get married without a ring. but what do i know
