With Valentines Day just behind us I've been thinking a lot about this question.

Does "true love" even exist or is it just a chemical in our brain that helps the species survive via reproduction? I mean. We are animals.

I'd like to see some actual scientific research if anyone has any on them. Links and stuff.

Like "the soul", love just seems to be a metaphor. What's really happening is chemicals in our brain are firing on and off.

One time I told my mom I didnt believe in love and she said "well you love me, dont you?".

For a second I was stumped and then I said. "I care" about you but not love as in the mating sense. Is caring just another survival strategy as well?
