Does “never explaining yourself” make you look like a dick?

So I have always been a huge proponent of the fact that you shouldn’t have to explain yourself and your actions to people.

In my mind you should always be respectful to people who are respectful to you and try to be a general good guy. That being said how do you guys feel about people who never explain themselves???

I have been doing that for years now and from what I can see people get used to it. Still I can’t shake the feeling that not explaining myself sometimes makes me look a giant asshole.

I just don’t feel like I need to explain to people why I sometimes don’t have time to do something or why is it that I generally don’t have an interest i doing it.

Now I don’t think you should worry too much what others think but I am generally interested what you guys think about someone never explaining themselves?

Does it make them an asshole?
