Dad doesn't want the dog because he knows he'll love it unconditionally for years and then he'll be the one that has to take it to the vet that last time.

If dad doesn't want a dog and you get one for him anyway, you've essentially signed him up to personally kill his best friend in 12-15 years.

For women and kids the dog is easy. They don’t have to pay $100/mo for food, $50/day for a pet sitter or kennel, dealing with dog shit, washing them or anything else. I love my dog and he is worth the hassle to me but it should be my decision to make. Could you imagine a woman reaction if you signed her up for something that requires that kind of attention and expense for 12-15 years?

My dad forced my mom to get rid of her dogs. I volunteered to take them, rather than see them go to a strange home. Now I have too many dogs and zero free time. Thanks, dad.

Dogs are a useful tool for MGTOW. Got a dog in a relationship one time. I never really wanted a dog but got it for the two of us. and then slowly slipped out the door with the dog realizing she kept getting me to do shit I didn’t want to do. A doggo helped me realize I don’t need the the yo-yo companionship of a woman. You don’t have to pay for them to pretend to be happy.
