I'm in the middle of a divorce. As you may expect, finances were a point of conflict for years. We were both supposed to take a modest "budget" every month for personal expenses. I would save mine, she would blow through hers before she was supposed to withdraw it, then keep spending. When she got a better paying job (still less than me) she decided the budget was double, against my protests. Even then, she could not reign in her spending. I finally insisted on separate accounts.

Since 8 months ago when she told me she wanted to see other people, I've paid all the bills by myself, and she just comes and goes randomly, often staying at a friend's house. She has minimal bills. Still, she's broke and can't get an attorney. And I'm still doing fine. I'll have to give her half of my diligent saving, and I will never get half of whatever she blew on bullshit, but it still doesn't matter. My bathroom won't be a disaster, and I won't have to try to convince her to be a decent human being, anymore (she won't).

well, shared account is ok, if you both have your own accounts and you decide how much each other puts to that account each month.

you can then have cards to that account and there is natural damage limitation. and it makes grocery shopping and bill splitting quite easy.

as for putting your paycheck to single shared account — nnnope. never.

the shared account fill amount should be (at max) 50% of your net salary. that usually keeps the amount of cash in that account low enough so take-and-run is no longer feasible. and if you start accumulating any real money there, you should just drop the fill amount a notch

and as a side benefit, it keeps the bitch honest :)

Just in the middle of selling my house right now, and I am single. It’s amazing how many papers I’ve had to sign and how many times I’ve had to answer the questions about me being married or not for financial disclosures. They make damn sure that if you’re married or “domesticated” that you’ll never be free! Thanks MGTOW!

Seriously. This. When my ex moved across the country to shack up with her internet boyfriend she not only cleaned out our account, but also ran it negative. Fun fact: you can't remove your name from an account if the balance is negative. She also placed an alert on her app that would tell her if the balance was greater than 1 cent so she could run down to the gas station and spend it back into negative.

I changed the passwords, but she started getting her boyfriend to impersonate me to their customer service so they could change my passwords (she had my account information) and transfer money from my other account.

The form to remove me from the account required a physical signature and couldn't be done online. I had printed it off before and mailed it in, but the ex had made the account negative again before the bank got the form so they threw it out because... You can't take your name off a negative account.

I ended up having to drive a few states away to the nearest branch location so that I could pay the negative balance and immediately give the the form.

Seems unreasonable. Personally I think there are so many businesses and products out there that are absolutely pointless, and only serve to make us materialistic in a bad way. I would love to see all the garbage businesses crash, and be replaced with only businesses that supply stuff of actual use, but that would require the majority spending intelligently and sensibly, which isn’t going to happen with women and cucks.

I did do this once. I was very lucky that she didnt drain me of everything. I turned off her debit card, gave her 50% into her separate account and called it good.

My bank doesn't have a physical location near me. I am lucky she respected how i did things, i know that does not happen for most at all.
