I worked as a construction manager. In the past a fairly male dominated occupation, but changes are coming. Large commercial and institutional construction projects. One of the managers quit and HR talked the boss into hiring a woman...she did have a CM degree. The rest of us are expected to manage multiple projects...she cried...so she only ever had one project at a time. Her knowledge of basic construction principals and standards were so poor she eventually only received the simplest of projects...yet still managed to eff them up. At first these concessions were labeled as temporary...3 years later that was still only what could be expected of her. CM is work with no set hours...sometimes you go home at midnight...not her...she has kids. 5pm? "see you guys tomorrow!" Hiring her created MORE work for each of the other CMs. Equality my ass.

Seeing 1/10 woman now in Automotive, and usually see them at the Till/behind counter job in mechanics uniforms, not nearly as messy/smelly as jobs pictured in top 3 pictures though.

I have yet to see a female garbage person.

Had to correct myself from saying "female garbage-man" because the cultural-norm is so concrete.

Contractor here. As I was on my knees today tiling a floor, it occurred to me that in over 20 years I have never met or even heard of a female tiler.

On the one hand, women are dumb. Then again, they ain't stupid either.
