I did a throwaway FB account with most privacy setting turned low/off. I started accepting friend requests from random people and reached to 2,500 friends in 5 days. I'm a guy with light eyes, light hair and decent look, so naturally there was a lot of attention from Asians (I'm going to Asia shortly, I'm just setting up some 'companionship'). There was one conversation I was having over and over with Chinese/Singaporean girls:

Immediately the question was "What do you do for a living?"

Now, I've heard it from several Asian male friends that Asian girls (especially Chinese) are only interested in money and it definitely showed. Since I had massive response (can provide screenshots if required), I decided to test different responses. Anything low tier (average 9to5 job) lead to no responses or low responses. Few blocks as well. Interestingly enough saying that I'm retired (at age 31) didn't get much responses as well. However, saying I was in investment banking or real estate development meant that they followed with a lot more conversation or questions.

One other side note, almost all those women were between 29 to 35. This is considered to be 'leftover' in China.

It seems like a business deal to me. They are fishing for a guy with high income. This would be fine if there would be something worth that money. But what exactly? It’s certainly not their looks because it’s past their prime. They also don’t seem to have interesting hobbies because almost all their pictures are about them shopping, eating, or just trying to look ‘cute’. So what is there? What I am missing? Why did guys accept those deals in the past?
