I need to change it but I need to start something of my own, I’ve hated working for every employer so far, I have issues with authority & have to stop myself from challenging them

It’s like they think that they can just push us around, bully us, and tell us what to do. It’s like they are on some power trip or something.

Well that’s cause the world has been handed to them on a silver platter but idc about that, I just want better living & the ability to walk away

The reality is the vast majority of small/med business owners got where they are with either their daddies or families money. No one likes to talk about this EVER.
In large corporations the majority of authority positions are either nepotism or good old by network placements.
People that make their own way are uptight penny pinchers that perceive every employees accomplishment as their own awesomeness. Though at least they are doing something to earn it but overall it is actually worse to work for them.
So yeah basically either independent contracting or starting a business is your only hope.

At work I was talking to someone about how I hate dealing with any management/boss. They suggested I have a problem with authority and I blew it off. Thought about it later and was like shit, that’s exactly right. I don’t mind my job but I want no communication with higher ups at all, which my job generally provides. And it’s not that my bosses were rude or intimidating or anything, I just want nothing to do with them
You sound like you might be a natural born entrepreneur. If you haven't read this book already, you'd probably relate to "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", he talks a lot about how it basically sucks to work for other people.

What does this shit even mean? Seek 'joy' in everything you do? How would you know it from any other state of being? It's like smoking pot everyday, if you're high all the time that becomes the new normal. I say seek joy where you can find it but don't make it a permanent state. We are meant to be angry, depressed, driven, upset, whatever you name it as well.

It's about taking responsibility for your situation. You either love it already, or you work to make it into something you do love.
We were meant to be blah blah blah
meant to be? By whom? Were you created in a lab? Are you a robot? Beep boop.

Agree. I like your disheveled Jack self help poster. Perfect example of someone who's deeply unfulfilled and hating life. Also agree that our feelings are meant to be experienced, but once we extricate ourselves from shit habits, shit jobs, and shit relationships, and pour ourselves into our passions, joy should begin to predominate. Big secret of life is that it's meant to be enjoyed. Finding our purpose is part of that equation. Good message.

Thanks, friend!
Welcome bro!

It's not in our nature to be in a permanent state of joy or anything else. But continue to nit pick and post your self help posters. What's next? Live Laugh Love?
[–]MenGoingTOWin1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
not in our nature
There it is again! You ARE a robot, aren't you? Because, you see, any human male is able to define their role for themselves.
If you want to get nit-picky, then sure. Joy is an emotion, and as such, it is fleeting. Happiness is not, it is a state of mind. The thing is, this quote isn't about the latter. It is about reducing pain, and improving your life and your world. Happiness is a given, joy is not.
You did give me quite a chuckle though with your "Live Laugh Love." I prefer "Eat, Pray, Love." It's a less common sign amongst women, but I have seen both.
You're not honestly trying to upset me, are you? You see -- I'm immune to that. I'm in complete control of myself. You're really just hurting yourself. But hey, that's your choice. Or wait, it's not, because you're a robot and don't get to choose. You're just a passive feather blowing in the wind, never knowing what mindset you might hold in the next moment. That's gotta suck. Wouldn't you rather fix yourself?

It just means if you don’t like something in your life it’s up to you alone to change it and make it better. Part of MGTOW is doing only what you want to do, and not making sacrifices of your own life enjoyment for the benefit of others (specifically women). This is supposed to be personally inspiring, driving the reader to do more to make tomorrow better for himself. The goal of the author was not to tell the reader it’s fine to be lazy and make bad choices because “you do you” or something like that.

The ability to feel a range of mild to extreme emotions is part of being alive. Knocking oneself into oblivion to avoid this is a trope perpetuated by tv and the movies in order to sell more alcohol and tobacco. When there's a thunderstorm you can run outside and embrace the static or cower under the table.

Happiness is not the same thing as pleasure. I think a lot of people get them confused.
Happiness is a choice.

Yes, find joy in all things, but don't find joy in a boring job to cope and accept it. This is not helpful for example.
Instead make the reason to find joy a necessity to stay healthy and not become bitter for your own good.
