This is a really important bit of psychology called the Light Switch Effect. Women are better at it but it's not exclusive to them. It's easier to bond with a new mate if you can immediately dismiss all "debts" to the previous one with a wave of a hand and an "I don't care." as they flip the Switch to OFF ... so naturally this mindset gets selected for in nature as more people (mostly female) are constantly on the prowl for upgrades and never get held accountable for the money he spent on her school, housing, etc.

Women are Manchurian Candidates. The moment something happens, some friend says something, they watch the next episode of Oprah or Dr. Phil or maybe Jennifer Lawrence says something in an interview and all the old programming is deleted by a new script. I totally understand... Took me 4 years to forget about my ex. She started dating a married man while we were together. I found out confronted her and she blames me for not trusting her. I walked from that relationship 5 years later she is married to that ahole. Some women don't really appreciate men. Grass is always greener on the other side.
