Shit, man. Some men just have no spine. Should've done a paternity test as soon as the kid was born. Even if the kid is his, the wife still cheated.

Now is a better time than later though to change things if it isn’t his. He can force her to make the real father pay child support, as she confessed who it is she had the affair with, and if that DNA doesn’t match either, then she’d have some real explaining to do ;-)

If she’s still married while she puts in a claim for child support against the true biological father and they both tell the child the truth about his biological origins the moment they both discover the truth, the court can no longer say it’s in the child’s best interests to not receive child support payments from the real biological father, providing involvement in the child’s life is offered first and the biological father accepts that he is the natural father. It actually changes the conditions enough for a potentially different decision to be made since if the natural father accepts being the father and evidence is recorded of this, then one can go after him for payments. This does require both the husband and wife stay together after the truth is known and while they begin proceedings, however.

I’m in the UK and yeah it’s a lot different here.
Child maintenance doesn’t directly involve the courts by default here, you can use DNA evidence to dispute assumed parentage at any point and payments are refunded from the point at which you disputed things (though you have to pay until you prove your point if you were married at the time, if you weren’t and disputed from the beginning, you don’t). You’re only required to pay up to £1000 for the test which the child maintenance service manages and if you are proven not to be the father you get refunded that alongside the payments (by the government, who chase her for the money after you’ve already been paid).
If the mother is believed to have deliberately made a claim in bad faith they get to fine her for the equivalent maximum cost of the DNA test (on top of the cost of the DNA test itself), with each future failure resulting in further fines. If she tries to refuse a DNA test when you actually pay for one, her claims are immediately thrown out and she has to appeal or go to court, where the refusal will be held against her by any sane judge.

These comments drive me nuts.
It feels good to virtue signal and it’s so easy to spend someone else’s money.
What I would like is all the people that say the child should be taken care of to pool their money together and pay for the kid.

You can't deny that raising a child for 5 years and then deciding that you didn't want to be the father anymore is a pretty huge dick move. It's not the kids fault.
He should definitely have gotten the test 5 years ago and could've decided what to do then.

"emotional" affair
[–]the-lone-squid0 points1 point2 points (3 children) | Copy Link
Well, affairs are pretty emotional
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points (2 children) | Copy Link
My comment refers to this affair being rather sexual, hence the sarcastic "emotional" :P
[–]the-lone-squid0 points1 point2 points (1 child) | Copy Link
Mmt comment was also sarcastic

Considering the fact that ~20% of children are raised by their non-biological fathers, without the later knowing that, and that all women are whores it's pretty obvious he's cucked.

As is typical, the religious cult of "therapy" rears its head.
Therapy is a joke, and anyone telling you to get it is a retard.

Why does he need to ask internet strangers for advice on such thing? Just do the test idiot smh
[–]Sir_manalot3 points4 points5 points (1 child) | Copy Link
What I do not get is all this "his/her right" bullshit and such.
If he wants to get the test do it. She isn't entitled to know.
[–]x6x6x619822 points3 points4 points (0 children) | Copy Link
The fact that he needs to ask, shows exactly the reason why his woman thinks it's ok to cheat on him. No backbone.
[–]AmbiguousObscurity3 points4 points5 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I can't believe the amount of people commenting on there saying that he is potentially ruining the trust between the pair. What is known for a fact is she had an affair before. Seemingly his peace of mind is irrelevant because how dare he question her.

That subreddit is pointless. Its just people trying to determine morality through majority opinion.
[–]Your_Coke_Dealer0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
And they’re...Reddit people on a drama subreddit. They tend atheist, young, female, urban, and liberal, so the moral decisions just reflect that worldview.

Can he do this secretly?
[–]Kwen_Oellogg7 points8 points9 points (2 children) | Copy Link
He absolutely can do this secretly. 23andMe just requires you to spit into a tube.
Of course he has to have the ability to spend $400 without his wife knowing. And I suspect that like most spineless men who have married he shares his earnings in a joint account with his wife.

Easy as pie to fix that with a prepaid Visa card and some cashback while “out with the boys” though. Might take a few goes to keep it under the radar but it’s easy to siphon off a bit of petty cash here and there.
[–]stupidreddithandle911 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
It’s way less money on other sites. I paid about $100 ten years ago.
[–]Gfeeny4 points5 points6 points (0 children) | Copy Link
People in that thread defending the wife are disgusting. “Genetics are wonky” according to most people there you should be happy your wife shits out a black child when you’re both white
