I've seen the first few episodes. Pretty spot on and hilarious... so far. I'm thinking this will take the predictable blue pill turn towards the end. We shall see.

Never seen the show but this is art imitating reality because my friend went through this.

Basically his wife has an affair with her coworker. She thinks it's true love and wants a divorce. She wants the divorce so fast that she doesn't ask for alimony or half of his pension just to be with the new guy. When the paperwork is filed, she runs to her true love only to find out she was just a piece of ass to this guy. The sad part is that she is more devastated about losing her lover more than destroying her marriage and losing her husband. She calls her ex-husband to talk and the conversations devolve into the lost of her lover and her crying over that, no mention of a destroyed marriage.

This isn't uncommon. Women find very unusual fee fee methods in how to justify their psychotic behavior.

The Irish writer of this Sharon Horgan has made a string of great sitcoms, all of which oddly show women in a really hyper realistic light. Catastrophe, which is on Netflix, stars her as a post-wall teacher who gets pregnant on a one night stand and then tries to make a relationship with the father. It continually shows the hell he has to go through due to her mood swings and unreasonable behaviour. She's also stuck a storyline in where the guy is propositioned by a young colleague at work, turns her down, and then she goes to HR to accuse him of sexual harassment.

I have no idea why Horgan writes this way, but it's fucking great that she does!
