Check out programming. There are tons of free resources online and depending how much time you devote to learning, you could land a decent job in 6 months to a year. Look at web development, front-end, back-end, etc and see if it piques your interest. Good luck.

Learn a trade. Much cheaper school, good paying jobs. Plumber, pipe fitter, machinist. Something along those lines. Decent living and if you apply yourself there's money to be made.

That's just a decent start. Then you save and invest, create multiple streams of income. Find some side hustles. I think working for a wage is just another prison people just accept. Start your own businesses and be an entrepreneur. Control your own destiny and stop making your boss rich.

Look for markets that need manpower. For those filter that you'd bot mind doing for the rest of your life. At least that's what I'd do in your place

Good money is good money because not many others wants to do it, or demand is higher than supply, it makes whatever you do worthy. Its really a big question, depends on what you want to achieve. You can find high paying doctors volunteering at poor countries earning close to nothing. Likewise you can find people stay onto jobs that they hate , but it pays their bills. You can start planning your life, how you want it to end. Then work backwards

Ha. Stupid skills always in demand. Driver license. One of the disregarded schools always in demand, get accustomed on driving passively until it is second nature to respect the law. Second. Maintenance work. Like setting up a router, fixing a electrical outlet, boring a hole in a wall, plumming. Having a basic understanding and learning the skill and fixing them are 2 very different skills. Even now there are faucets that leak and electrical outlets that break and a man, being a man will try to DIY and fail, and break the wall in the process. Having the knowhow but not practice is a major flaw.

A simple add for doing such work. A lot of free time. Having the tools for the job and know how to use them is a lifesaver.

Also, good health and good hands are a plus.

Also having the spare parts at hand is a plus. The cheap version and the expensive version of the thing you are repairing is a plus.

The big difference is that you are selling your work, not shilling the socket or whatever have you.

Learn programming or anything that you can do work overseas. Create your own passive income, then move to a lower cost of living country.

Learn construction, plumbing, mechanics, buy vacant or foreclosed land, build houses, fix broken cars, sell, rent, buy, lease, repeat.

The answer to this is going to be different for different people. Start with figuring out what you want and what you have a knack for. Take a couple of general aptitude tests, a couple of general interest surveys, and see if you can find a career that fits your talents and interests and pays enough to make it worth pursuing. If you go to trade school or get in with a trade union, you can learn a real skill that’s useful and isn’t likely to get automated in the near to medium term future. It is important to pursue something you are interested in learning because life is too short to be doing something that kills your soul.

Once you learn a trade, it can’t be taken away from you. But like anything worth doing, it’s a ton of hard work. If you’re a pipe fitter, you’re busting your ass.

I’m a senior network engineer. While I sit at a desk for most of the day, the job can be mentally exhausting. But, telecom has been a love of mine since I was 16, so I am extremely fortunate.

Self employed is my advice. I went from working 60 hour weeks to 30 and earning four times as much. The amount of people who stay in long term jobs to avoid risk astounds me. I was making my employer over £500k per year and being paid barely 15% of it just to use their name and offices in the final few years
