The overriding goal of elites is to break up families (divide and conquer) and make tons of money in the process, why would they encourage marriage? That's why they get the legal institutions set up the way they do. What they might do though is find more ways to soak single men who choose not to get married, since without the baggage of a wife and family to support, these men are doing better financially than their married counterparts.

Society as we know it today wont last that long. With the influx of the third world hordes, the welfare state burden, and the endless hostility to men in general the clock is ticking down to BOOM TIME!

I don't see that happening - not exactly. But as marriage and birth rates continue to plummet, I imagine immigration will only continue to increase exponentially as the government tries to hide and deny the extent of the problem.

Of course, they can't get away with that forever (there is already a backlash brewing about it throughout the west), so I can see all states/provinces that haven't already instituted common law marriage will do so, then make those laws more and more punishing. When that fails, bachelor taxes disguised as something else, increasing influence of communism/marxism on society, as a last-ditch effort to resuscitate a crippled and dying system.

I expect somewhere in there we will see bargaining as women and government try to lure disenfranchised men back to the plantation - but it will already be too late...in fact, it may already be.

Who knows what comes after that. We watch the world burn I guess.

Never. If it's not happening in Japan, it's not going to happen here. More incentives may be provided to encourage marriage in some parts of the world, but it'll never be mandated.

Also, this world is circling the drain. It's probably for the best that fewer new lives are being brought into it... and it's exactly what the elite are striving for, though for their own self-centered purposes. To understand why they will never allow such a thing as conscripted marriages, look as they do to the Georgia Guidestones...

Men won't get conscripted, but instead will be taxed for not getting married. It's easier for government this way. This way the government can make easy money, with society ( women and married men) shamelessly supporting the move.

I see this as a legitimate concern but one that won't happen as predicted.

More likely, single men will simply be taxed higher, either by giving single women more tax deductions or by directly increasing their tax rate somehow.

This is presuming that such a policy would be pursued.

I just wonder, as a gay man, how long it's going to be before the "super tolerant left" starts persecuting us for not giving our resources to women.

Also, I don't think men are going to get conscripted into marriage - not directly, anyway. We will instead be forced to give money to women in indirect ways, such as a bachelor tax, high taxes on products generally used by men (like a 30% condom tax, or something), or through other indirect means. It's easier to control us when they are taking money and resources from us indirectly than if we are effectively being forced to give it away (which will cause a rebellion)
