I've read many books that moved me, but Esther Vilar wrote the only one that ever truly changed me.
There is irony in her book, however. Right on the back cover:
ESTHER VILAR was born in 1935 of German parents in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was trained as a physician and in 1960 went to West Germany to continue her Studies in psychology and sociology. She worked as a staff doctor in a Bavarian hospital for a year, and has also been a translator, a saleswoman, an assembly-line worker in a thermometer factory, a shoe model, and a secretary. She was married to German author Klaus Wagn for two years and they have a seven-year-old son.
I don't point this out to be in any way detrimental to her personally, but the irony is that she couldn't exempt herself from being a manipulating woman despite all of her psychology, sociology, and medical studies. She studied for years to be a doctor, even going abroad, and yet seemed to go out of her way to do anything else (factory worker, sales, secretary, etc), married an author, had a child, and divorced after only 2 years. It was only after this, that she authored her own book The Manipulated Man. I'm sure there is a lot more to the story, but the irony is there nonetheless.
Don't let any of this deter you (anyone who hasn't read it yet) from reading it. It is the most raw, powerful insight into the mind of woman I've ever come across, and the proof is right there on the back cover.

Esther married the German author Klaus Wagn in 1961. The marriage ended in divorce after two years but they had a son, Martin, in 1964. Concerning the divorce she stated, "I didn't break up with the man, just with marriage as an institution."
She then went on to write The Polygamous Sex: A man's right to the other woman. As an advocate of polygamy, one can easily connect some dots and assume she is exactly who she wrote about in The Manipulated Man; a woman.
She also spent decades describing herself as a feminist, while simultaneously playing the victim publicly, by describing being "verbally" attacked and threatened by feminists and women. There are some interviews on YouTube and the general vibe I got was that she wasn't a diety to be hoisted on a pedestal, but rather a woman in many ways like all other women.
Since the publication of her book, Esther Vilar has been praised, picketed against, cheered, spat upon, acclaimed, reviled, asked to leave the country, and invited to lecture at colleges and universities. All because of the shocking and controversial results of her bold new look at the age-old sexual battle in The Manipulated Man.

Still not finding any evidence anywhere that she acted hypocritically in her own life, and, though that would be a mark against her, it still wouldn't delegitimize the revolutionary things she has written, such as women using sex to manipulate and control men. From an evolutionary perspective, I also can't fault her on her natural polygamy of men stance.
I haven't read her materials yet, but they sound very promising from the summaries I have seen.

Either way I'll break down what I've already posted and leave it at that.

Studied to be a physician
Left to study abroad
Got strange dick in a foreign land & made a child
Went out of her way to avoid being the physician she studied to become (factory work, sales, shoe model, secretary, etc)
Got a divorce after two years of marriage, "I didn't break up with the man, just with marriage as an institution."; they were completely estranged after 14 years when their son was just 10 years old.
She wrote a book advocating polygamy for men (harem; e.g. the 80/20 rule where 80% of women share only the top 20% of men)
Played the victim card in interviews in order to sensationalize her own published works and create sympathy from men in a bid to sell more books (lol)
She self describes (or at least did for a significant period of time) as a feminist.
I haven't read her materials yet, but they sound very promising
They absolutely are, which is what I stated at the start. Just don't pedestalize her; she's every bit the woman that she wrote about, which is exactly why her work is so valuable to men. It's unfiltered truth about the nature of women, from the mouth of a woman.

Yeah, I did read what you had written, and maybe I took it hyper-literally. I just wanted to be sure there was no evidence she used male sexual appetites to dominate or control a man (my strict definition of "manipulate"). Yeah, I don't doubt that she's an actual train-wreck of a woman in all that generally implies!
Like, for me, even (pettily) divorcing a man is better than keeping a man chained to her.
An example of that more troubling type of hypocrisy, to which I refer... Another of my favorites, Ayn Rand, I understand was actually blatantly unfaithful to her husband, on whom I understand she based many of her more heroic characters. (And, maybe that made him kind of a simp, while still not being the "type to back down, come hell or high water").
Think any woman who avoids that (strict control) syndrome deserves some credit. One of the oldest things known to man - the difficulty of denying the addiction of power.
Damn, just went to look for the Vilar link in the side panel, and it now seems to be gone? Just learned about her from it there recently, the short time ago that I joined. Seems rather valid to me... Could this just part of an increasing exclusion of absolutely anything feminine from this sub??
