Try living in the hood and everytime you get done working a ten hour shift people down there know what your vehicle looks like what time and they come knocking on your window talking about come on bro spare a couple bucks then when you don't have they want to say you acting fake you must have forgotten where you come from, then they want to get mad when you tell them living in the hood for damn near 20 years is the only cause of your depression

I love solitude.

Having said that, I have a few friends that I truly love. They're curious, funny, principled, and trustworthy. We can talk for hours about business (they're all business owners), political ethics, or the long-term cultural repercussions of the current zeitgeist.

My friends enrich my life. I don't see them often. I don't need to. But when I do, it's always to my benefit.

I haven't had a job in 10 years. I got good at assembling a product, and I sell it online. 10 years ago I got a mortgage, quit my job, and started doing my own thing. Now I have zero debt, house is paid for, vehicles paid for. I wouldn't recommend farming, but get good at making something that can't be done with robots. For example, custom cars, motorcycles, boats, brick laying, carpentry, etc.

Bro, think this through. There is a reason most people moved from the rural parts of the country to the cities. Unless you have a life time worth of money already saved, you ain't gonna make it as a farmer. All the land has been bought and sold either by large ranches or corporations.

I'm currently struggling with this myself. I'm leaving the corporate meat grinder for something smaller but I'm still skeptical about it.

I'm still deconditioning myself of all the lies and obligations I was fed as a kid and young adult: WORK. BUY. REPRODUCE.

Once I get out of debt I'm walking away completely. No more society, no more pop culture, no more corporate America. I'm done.

Money is imaginary, its a construct, mostly used for chains of extraction.

If your goal is money, the result will invariably be more extraction....

On the other hand, self sufficiency is golden. And the current system is in decline, and headed for a big crash.

Why buy into something thats gonna crash?

The only wise use for money, is to do and get things that reduce or eliminate your dependency on money.

Its not like you need much to be comfortable. A warm dry place to sleep and cook and work on projects. Doesnt require a ranch style in the burbs.

You need a meal or two a day. Doesnt have to be steak or pizza.

Nights are long... lighting allows doing things more than sitting in the dark.

We have all kinds of available tech and resources now, that can be repurposed towards minimalism and self sufficiency.

Humans lived on this planet for at least a couple hundred thousand years before even metals, or money, or houses.

Surely with all we have, we can do better than they.

Ah, that's cool but just remember slav-uh I mean, taxpaying citizen, you need to pay property tax, and income tax, and make sure your property is properly zoned! We can't have too many of our go-er...beloved people living year-round in the fringes of society.

Someone needs to pay the tax burden, and it won't be those in charge. That's your job!
