I used to play need for speed most wanted like this, it was a completely different experience from using the joystick.

It's not a bad idea to play race games, all other types are quite lame nowadays.

I tried my friends wheel setup on Forza. I couldn't match my times. There is definitely a learning curve, but he told me that a properly setup wheel is superior to a controller. Honestly, most racing games are optimized for a controller which has so many built in assists. Still, I might go wheel someday, when I get a separate room and I can get a good rig set up.
