I think men in general are more creative than women. I mean there are very few things a woman can do better than a man so. Yeah men are probably funnier.

There has to be imo. Men don't just get accepted into groups for having a penis, they have to have talents and skills as well as personality. Humor is a personality talent that allows you to gain peoples trust as well as train their brains in an almost unconsciously Pavlovian sense to desire your company, especially when you're not around and no one is making them laugh when you so often do. Women have never needed "extras" for people to desire their company, men with resources desire their company simply for existing and thus no evolved extra traits needed to win over the group.

Humour comes from being able to relate to people. Men relate because they engage in dangerous work. Women talk a lot but it is very vapid, and in fact it is better if they are not fully understood, if at all.

Women tend to make jokes for other women. Men tend to make jokes for everyone.

Also, everyone enjoys male misery (self-loathing humor) and gay undertones in jokes.

I would say it is more societal than evolutionary. Simply put, fewer men are able to prosper in society off of looks than women. So, they have to develop personality and conversational skills which involves observing and reacting to society instead walking around while society reacts to them.

There used to be an old trope of beautiful women being able to cause car crashes just by walking down the street. A beautiful woman will cause the society around her to react whereas a man will have to put in effort and/or talent to elicit the same level of reaction.

I think most men and women aren’t funny at all. The average person regardless of gender is complete boring ass garbage.

If you’re smart, you’re likely to also be very funny just by default. If you’re average it’s probably Dunning Kruger effect.

It’s not evolutionary, it’s high functioning depression. The more depressed and jaded a comedian, the funnier. It’s a coping mechanism for the optimistically depressed.

Like the saying of “it’s funny because it’s true.” They are so done with life they can see things for what they really are.

We're social animals by nature. Men are most effective when working together toward a goal, like taking down a mammoth or something. Being able to make others laugh was probably the best way for an individual to integrate into a new group. I'm probably talking out my ass here but that's what I assume.

there is as few of funny women than of philosoph women (and all of them are mostly feminist). like one said above, women don't need to be funny to have babies. but imo it's mostly that women are too hypocrits and self-centered to related to anything beyond themself with interest. with that you add cognitive dissonance and refusal of personal responsability but mostly lack of actual hardship, and foundation of moral values. after all women's morales are as volatile as their emotions and change direction as much as the herd mentality dicted it.
