This cannot be accurate. The writer has no statistics or data to back up her claim that alimony for men will become a reality. We will all be dead and gone before this becomes a reality.

It isn’t accurate, and in fact if the writer had set out to write things exactly the opposite as they are, she hit the ball out of the park. Forbes, no less. Dear editors: if you would like an accurate piece on the current state of “welfare for grownups” and attempts at reform that are consistently put down by the millions of dollars the “family” bar has to fight them, please email me at [email protected]. I’m serious. This was an embarrassment to your publication.

My reading is it means a judgment is rendered, usually via settlement as opposed to a judge’s ruling (95% of cases settle) and the woman later comes back demanding more alimony. That’s disgusting. It’s high time for women to realize they are responsible for themselves. And by the way, why don’t you explain to me how a women needs to stay home for 20 years “raising children.”

Again with the pathetic attempt to comment on this article and add something meaningful to the discussion. I’d love to meet your husband – I’ll bet he has a very different take on the situation. I think I’ll try to find him now, although he’s probably busy at work. Unlike you, because you have to stay at home with your adult child.

Yeah, let me just wait for the statistics to actually validate this article. Perhaps in like 20-30 years. Current statistics show men are still getting destroyed by divorce, so unless this is Forbes way of pandering to the demoralized married man I can't see how this is remotely a reflection on reality.

While women (97% of the 400,000 people receiving alimony in 2010 were women) have historically suffered a severe economic disadvantage, those days are over.

Those woman where never disadvantaged, they chose to play the role of stay-at-home mom. It's the men who have no choices, its either go to work, or get served Divorce papers.

Alimony is actually rare in my state( only known one guy to get it), and my last state didn't have it at all..
