Normal is such a comforting word. Its implications that one can finally be safe and relax. An opportunity for leisure and growth. It is sad it is an illusion that is constantly changing, shifting from moment to moment by those who farm us now.

At one time, not so long ago it made perfect sense for a man and woman to create a union and have as many children as they could. Society had not grown (and in many parts of the world still has not and needs this union) to the point where ones very survival against nature, other animals and our fellow man could be taken for granted. You find some land abundant with resources, build it up and someone stronger comes along (often with a group) and takes it from you, sometimes your very own neighbor.

So it made sense to have as many children as you could. Sons who could help you keep what you were building, daughters to maybe marry into another strong family to create an alliance (it wasn't only royalty this was for).

But the western world has created something so strong that the structure made individual men appear to be obsolete. I emphasize appear though. It is an illusion that the police can save you from crime. It is an illusion that the power will always be on, water always running and groceries always at the store. The illusion is always there, whispering its assurances that it was real last week, last month, last year and do not think for a moment it will not be there tomorrow. Everyone knows that if something goes wrong, a phone call will bring the men necessary to take care of the problem whether plumber, electrician, police, etc.

That illusion is what is being called normal. The illusion that allows for people (both men and women) to take for granted they are safe, will always have things like controlled air, choice of food etc. An illusion that could be ripped away without warning as history is full of just such examples.

People lean on this illusion because the idea of being self sufficient and able to build and keep what was built on ones own scares the shit out of them. This fear is what drives societies overwhelming participation in what the handlers of the illusion demand with their media and laws.

So normal people? They will be the first to be sacrificed when the winds change.

Doing "what was expected of me" almost put me in an early grave. Fuck that... never again.

Today I take care of my obligations to my kids, pay my child support, and try to be a good dad. But my free time is now all mine. I wouldn't even consider an LTR at this point, much less marriage. Women aren't throwing themselves at me, but sex is easy enough to come by that I don't have to worry about committing. If that ever changes, I'll just go full-monk mode.

'Alone' is fine. What is not OK is being 'lonely.' Lonely means you are LONGING for someone, if you're heterosexual that would be a FEMALE. Well mabye normal is right for a large part normal people. You argument is vaild however the idea that something is normal does not make it ethically right or the right life choice, however it also does not make it wrong. The idea I'm putting forward is that your friend might need that foundation in his life, he is clearly not willing to be alone so he rather have the normal shit that normal life and relationships give him instead of taking a abnormal posistion like MGTOW. Note that I'm using normal in a descriptive manner, meaning that most of the people in the world view it as the thing you are supposed to do or view it as a life choice that is correct within a certain culture. Normal in a normative manner is a whole different thing, but this is a useless converstation since normativity is not decided by applying certain words to it but by viewing the actions taken. Meaning that if you do not want to be alone you indeed find a partner and stick with that person aslong as it is possible, in a normative sense that is the normal play, however if you have a different goal than that is the abnormal play.

However you do not necessarily thing differently then him, or me, or MGTOW or blue pills, you just have different assumptions about life. We argue her on MGTOW we have seen the light or something, but in fact we assume that relationship/woman are not going to make us have a better life. Note that assuming can be done with certain facts and figures to back it up, and that is what we do as MGTOW and I think is the right assumption. But the other assumption might also be valid if another goal is the main goal of said person.

I have a feeling that many MGTOWs are like me. I didn't have kids in my neighborhood growing up, plus I had a stutter. I just did my own thing. I have friends and had girlfriends, but that early experience of isolation meant I had to be okay with being alone or I would go insane.

So, now the negative of being alone to me is not as great as others. My younger brother is a true extrovert. He gets lonely if alone for very long at all. He told me he has to have a partner in life to feel normal. So, he could never be like me and eschew romantic relationships simply because he would probably feel he lacked some necessary outlet for himself. He would feel it so strongly that he could not go on.

After swallowing the red pill it became obvious to me that I didn't need a woman at all. I'm self-sufficient and, more tellingly, I was also self-sufficient when I was in my LTRs. This self-sufficiency comes from being a man. I was getting so little out of my relationships but this didn't stop me from pandering to my partners' needs.
