But you do have to admit that the Left has gone insane lately.

Both left and right is fine and is IMO necessary for a society to remain stable and not topple over in either direction.

The important thing that both sides do not become radical and that both sides keep searching both dialogue and solutions with each other.

I like to think I lean somewhere in the middle. Some might call me Libertarian and I used to, but the whole taxation is theft bit leaves me wondering if they plan on privatizing law enforcement and fire departments. Oh, house on fire? Sorry, but you haven't paid your monthly subscription fee, so too bad. Anyway...

I believe that we, as a society, should help people who CANNOT help themselves. The truly disabled, the elderly, mentally handicapped, etc.

I can't stand the idea of my taxes going to people who are just lazy or scamming the system. This goes for both rich and poor. Politicians on both sides have this wonderful way of making themselves and their closest friends/family a lot of money while in office at taxpayer expense.

I don't like the fact that the left seems to want to raise taxes on the wealthy in order to give free shit to the ~~lazy~~ less privileged. In the end, it's the middle class that gets taxed because they sure as fuck aren't going to increase taxes on their potential re-election donors.

I don't like the fact that the right will lower taxes on the super rich and spend more and more money on 'defense'. I don't think we should be sacrificing our soldiers to be fighting in countries that are too fucking poor to bang two rocks together, let alone be enough of a threat for us to require properly defending ourselves against. Don't even get me started on all the shit we left behind when we pulled most of our troops back home.

I don't like that almost no politicians have children in the military and obviously have no concern whatsoever of anything happening to our troops. Hell, I don't think we have a majority of politicians who even served in the military anymore. It's real easy to send strangers off to war when you know your own family won't be anywhere near that mess.

I believe that everyone should be allowed to pretty much do anything they want in the pursuit of happiness so long as it doesn't involve hurting or stealing from or otherwise preventing anyone else from their own pursuits. I do, however, take a bit of umbrage with people who drink or partake of any mind affecting drugs while working in construction, transportation, law enforcement or any other line of work where they would be a danger to others. Work in an office or retail or even from home? Do whatever you want as long as you get your work done and don't hop in your vehicle while still under the influence.

Oh, and not having any desire whatsoever to say anything that might make me sound religious, but basically, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

left and right are bad references.freedom is a good one.Statism is one of the ennemies of freedom, along with marxism, communism, socialism, democracy and fascism; these are all state-pushing philosophies. True liberalism, libertarianism, anarcho-capitalism , agorism, federalism and to some extent the respublica are better doctrines.
