Age helps. My sex drive is probably 5% of what it was when I was 18. I'm in my 40s. Once you aren't as sexually attracted to women - they become pretty toxic fast because they just don't bring a whole lot else to the table besides reproduction.

In fairness to women, though, this isn't always because they don't have more to offer. Some women have a lot to offer but just won't offer it because the reproductive roles and hypergamy just prevent her from giving freely to a male mate, and women with a lot to offer would rather seek out a male with EVEN MORE so they don't have to spend resources (emotional or material) on their mate - instead saving or spending those resources on themselves and offspring.

The other thing that helps is money. If you have enough money to calm your own anxiety about money in the future (this number is different for everyone), then you can walk away from employers or relationships of any kind in general and still get by. If your meal and rent depend on dealing with people that you really don't like (which will stress your emotional state a lot), then you're just going to be miserable in order to eat.

I’m monk mode, but I’m pushing 40. I’ve had my share (and more) of sex with randoms, and these days it just is not worth the effort or more importantly the risk.

You couldn't tell me that relationships wasn't worth it when I was 18-22, I was way too thirsty. Now I'm 27 and my hormones have calmed down quite a bit and monk mode is a whole lot easier. It's a bit hard even now but I focus on studying and trying to avoid the whole ordeal.

I think monks are a minority of MGTOW, but it would be good to do an informal survey to see what the makeup is. Sex is great and most guys love it, obviously. It just has to be on acceptable terms and no MGTOW should compromise on his terms. And stay protected.
