I’m a 20 year old junior in college and I want to make a change. Ever since I got into college, my motivation for school has dropped off a cliff. I’m a junior taking freshman/sophomore level classes and my gpa is shit. I have no connections to professors and no chance at getting internships. Im very solitary and don’t have many friends either. Like many of you right now in these hard times my mental health is in a really dark place right now. I went to a prestigious boarding school, got into a really good college, and then everything went to shit. I feel guilty for wasting these opportunities but at the same time, I want to take my life into my own hands and focus on the important things, instead of doing things other people want and expect me to do.

A couple of years ago my dad offered to hire me and pay me well at his company doing property management instead of going to college. I want to finally take that opportunity. It’s a mostly manual labor job, so I would learn actual marketable skills, and the only thing I care about anymore is my relationship with my dad and sister. I’m going back home for the holidays and I want to ask him to hire me. I have no plans, goals, aspirations, or meaning where I am now, so I see no point in continuing like this.
