Hey bros -

Hoping to gain a little perspective here. Chime in if you live alone, or have before.

Basically for the first time in my life, I’m now able to afford to live alone. I’m in my early to mid 20s. I won’t be able to afford anything fancy, but a nice well furnished studio apartment. This sound great to me! Living with other people is ok, and the cheaper option, however people’s weird quirks tend to drive me crazy.

I just want my home to be the one place I can go to shut out the world, be alone, reflect, and not be invested in anyone else’s BS. I do understand this goes both ways, as I’m sure that my BS will get on their nerves as well. I don’t want that either.

My previous living situation was living with family, to now living with roomates (close friends). Both of which I love, but they are not without their own unique but annoying quirks. I also plan on getting a doll soon, which my roommate/friend shames me about, so I won’t until I get my own place.

I guess my question is... is the grass really greener on the other side?

I can see the potential negatives to living alone (loneliness, no one to talk to, nobody to share domestic duties with, etc.)

What has your experience been like living alone? If you do not live alone, do you want to?
