actually the gap is larger, something like 20/85, if you include that into the global welfare, such as healthcare usage, social security, food stamps and the like. And it gets wider still if you account for who directs the general spending.
For every woman born, it's an automatic, unavoidable, burden of $500,000 on welfare budget, which means they will die having cost more than 500 thousand dollars than they provided.

The average US man transfers about $7,200 per year of their in tax share and $12,600 per year in income to women.
Simply put a US man has to work more than 3 times harder than a woman for each dollar they spend on themselves.

The only stat I could find indicated that there were 18% more women recipients of welfare. So, it doesn't seem to be the 75% that is indicated above. That said, it wasn't actually broken down by percentage of welfare funding. I couldn't find stats broke that down.

It doesn't automatically follow that they are only getting 18% more welfare money. Single men get very little welfare to maintain themselves, whereas women are most of the single parents and they get far more welfare to pay for kids who's dads are nowhere to be seen for whatever reason. Women also don't just work less, but also earn less when they do work. A lot less. Government welfare is basically taking money from men and giving it to women. And that's just unemployment welfare. Women are also the recipients of far more gender specific Govt' funding that men.

Hey someone else gets it. A workforce that can do the same work for less would outprice everyone else. Basic economics shows that any idea of a "wage gap" is nonfeasible. Competition between demographic groups to earn a wage would do the INCREDIBLY WELL UNDERSTOOD thing wherein competition creates stable and lower prices for the consumers. It's just that in this case it's looking at the other half of the employee-employer relationship: that the employer is buying the work of the employee, and therefore constrained by the same market forces.

If a company that pays men X and runs on a profit margin of say 10%, and labour costs are say 50% of their overheads, could get the same output from women for 23% less wages they would be looking at more than doubling their profits.
