Nurses are in high demand world wide and many give generous signing bonuses. But it's probably a more tiring job than electrician. However electrician is a more solo job.

I'd go with Electrician. Believe it or not, it's getting more and more demand here in Europe because all the kids are to lazy for the job (dream on becoming famous on IG) and the refugees are to retarded.

Nurse is a field dominated by women, if you are a normal guy they will do anything in their power to fire you because men don' bleed 3 days every month and days off are considered for promotions.

Go for electrician, we are a society based on devices and you can even fix your own stuff.

As a registered nurse you will mostly work with women.

As a RN you will have to work physically till you die probably.

As electrician you will mostly work with men. You can get an associate degree and work do online classes on the side and get a bachelor and master. You can get into automation and you won't work physically anymore ( well here and there but not often ) further more you can get in a manager position and easily hit 6 figures.

I don't know that many registered nurses that hit 6 figures and if they are in a lead position. Now do you think you could lead a bunch of women every day?

I would pick electrician any day less money to start with but more possibilities to grow.

Highly depends on what country you live in.

Assuming the US, why not Electrical Engineering Technology? You can get an AS, or BS, and have a wide range of job options.

Not an expert on either field but wouldn't being a nurse mean you have to work with women all day plus shift work? I know 2 electricians and both did very well financially and liked their job.

As an electrician, make your money early. The wear on your body is high. Talk to a 50 year old electrician.

As a nurse, you will be popular as the heavy lifter. There will be sexual harassment. To help block this:

When looking at a position:

Make sure there are plenty of nursing assistants that are male.
Find a physical ailment that limits the amount of lifting you can do.

As soon as you identify a problem:

Go to HR, inform them of discrimination based on sex.
Start looking for another position in another hospital.

EDIT Also consider very few nurses ever work in outside in the weather.

RN is something people can be somewhat easily reschooled to. Electrician... not so much. With the ever continuing automation trends, I suspect the need for electrical engineers and other related fields will only increase, and as boomers retire, there'll be a shortage in that market. Since it requires getting your hands dirty every now and then, expect few women to sign up for electrician - RN on the other hand? Might be something postwallers flock to, to keep themselves afloat.

Ask the right questions. From what you wrote you love the contract based work of an electrician. Do what you love if the rest of the factors don't differ vastly.
