The ign recap video said many male characters were being played by females. The new black widow movie has an androgynous character and "diversity" was the key to their presentation. Aka.... well push our gynocentric bullshit agenda by mixing it with an actual worthwhile topic like racial representation in movies.

Jane Foster Thor was a thing in the comics because Odinson wasn’t worthy of the hammer, are they going to make it so that she’s Valkyrie’s girlfriend or something. I hope they have Odinson in Thor 4 and make Guardians 3 an extension of him becoming King Thor.
