If you do a cursory search for the term "men and commitment" on youtube you will find hundreds of thousands of hours of video with a common theme.
"Why won't he commit?"
"7 ways to get him to commit"
"Why are men afraid of commitment?"
"3 reasons why he won't commit"
etc..
The quintessential man who is "afraid of commitment" is a meme as old as time itself.
But why? How does this idea that men have intrinsic commitment "issues" permeate so deeply into the psyche of socio-sexual marketplace? It is because a man's commitment is his most valuable asset. It is what they are all after. Governments want your dedication to the country, corporations want your loyalty to their brand, churches want your devotion to their cause, society wants your sense of responsibility to protect, women want your commitment to provide. Commitment, as you see, is the prize that everyone wants from a man. If it wasn't so valuable, they wouldn't be so concerned with getting it (nor would they shame you so incessantly when refused).
And yet "society" fails to inform men directly how valuable an asset they hold. Instead men are told that they need to man up, take responsibility, and commit, like an adult. Were a man to pursue only his own interests, he is shamed. Were a man to live each day only for himself, he is insulted. Were a man to dare find himself happy and fulfilled without agonizing over then gripes of the collective, he is called selfish and uncaring.
They expect you to take pennies on the dollar for something that is apparently priceless. But in the current year, with the power of the internet at their disposal, men have begun recognizing the value of their commitment, and deciding that the price they've been offered is insufficient, and the risks of total forfeiture are too high. The cost of a man's commitment is his freedom, and so the compensation for relinquishing that freedom must surely be commensurate.
Feminists are like greedy hedge fund managers; They've shorted the market irresponsibly for decades, and when the bill comes due the market will either implode catastrophically, or they will pay you whatever price you set for that which they want most.
Just an interesting observation I've come across. let me know what you think.
