Difficult to take the man bun seriously
[–]bgreeneist31 points32 points33 points 7 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
I always see the man bun as mangina-ish
[–]imPwP9 points10 points11 points 7 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Why though? What other option for those with long hair apart from leaving it all untied?
[–]ReallyObvious 11 points12 points13 points 7 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link
Cut it off. Long hair isn't manly. Your hair should be short for a few reasons.
Hair can be used against you as a weapon, look up any woman-on-woman catfight. There are chunks of scalp and hair flying everywhere as they yank it out. Basically, you are demonstrating that you cannot get into a physical confrontation.
Long hair also shows that you don't work on any heavy machinery. You can't, unless you take the time to preen yourself and form a man bun, which makes helmets and welding masks fun.
You (probably) don't do a lot of physical labor or excercise, since hair gets in the way and gets dirty.
Long hair requires more cleaning and care, which is feminine. Maybe you use special supplements and conditioners. You also brush your hair every morning. You can't go camping or hunting for a few days without working on your hair.
I may be a little biased/hateful, because I live in the hipster ManGina capital of the world, Portland Oregon. But still, I tend to take a certain view towards men with long hair. It's the same for dudes who wear like 5 rings, you just know they never work with their hands.

Haha yeah your biased. I have long hair, work on my trucks, and have been a kickboxer for more than a decade. The great warrior people of history all had long hair. But, the more important thing is the words of the post, not the guy’s hair.

most of the great warriors and great spiritual leaders tended to have long hair OR shaven heads.
[–]MicroelectronicElk1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Eh, as long as you can back it up, you can do whatever crazy shit to your body
[–]ReallyObvious 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's sport, not an actual fight
[–]OnlyHanzo1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They have been pictured with long hair. Thats a big difference. Actual warriors usually have short hair, a military-style mohawk or are bald.
Sure thing you can have whatever hair you want, i enjoy letting mine flow too, but that is a heavy disadvantage in a no-rule fight, which kickboxing isnt.

Although I have an office job (these days at least, I'm no stranger to blue collar work in my past), I'm inclined to generally agree with your points.
Of course there's also a case to be made that if having longer hair makes a man happy, then so be it.
[–]balancedben 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
true. hipsters suck but they sucked before the whole longer beard thing came in fashion. i personally don't care how long or how short a man's hair is. if he's a good guy and does his job well then that's that. discrimination based on such petty things as that is stupid and only robs an employer of a potentially good employee.
[–]balancedben 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
that's bullshit. you're definitely biased and not in sync with truth. i have long flowing locks and a long flowing beard and there's nothing feminine about it. what's feminine is a shaven face and what's cucked is short roman style hair which is both unnatural and a sign of conforming to the gynocracy. the system wants us stripped. as for hipsters - they wear their hair and facial hair whichever way the kosher blessed social engineers promote via the media and "education" centers. they're the biggest comformists of all. prior to the whole hipster thing it was all about the metrosexual and men having shaven feminine faces and dressing up and wearing mascara and light make up in some instances. these guys are soy boys no matter what style they're fashioned in.
with that said - i periodically cut my hair short just to enjoy not having to mess with it but after awhile the unnaturalness of it causes me to grow it back. do your own thing though. if you prefer it close cropped do that just don't hold it against those of us that don't. not all of us are soy boys or hipsters.

I'll tell you about a few people who are legends and have longer hair:
Many spiritual leaders from various parts of the world
Ronaldinho, Gareth Bale, Lucas Modric, Zlatan - Footballers
Many GoT characters, James Momoa (Khal Drogo and Aquaman)
Gods from Ancient Greek Mythology (Zeus, Achilles, Apollo, Poseidon) and Hindu Mythology (Shiva, Krishna, Rama), along with Hindu priests, almost all Sikhs (with turbans),
Ancient warriors of Sparta, Greek warriors, Romans (earlier times), Gaul, Germanic Goths, Merovingians, Gaelic Irish, Frenchmen of 11th and 12 centuries, Men before World War I
Several Native American tribes, some African Americans, many European musicians, writers, philosophers etc.
I come from a belief and understanding that we must nurture both feminine and masculine qualities both equally within ourselves, and these qualities are independent of whether one is a man or a woman. Sure, grace and beauty might be a thing for women socially right now, but it's not restricted to just them.
I don't like metrosexual bs though, the whole forced man bun styles etc. But to each his own. If you can't keep a long hair due to professional reasons, you gotta cut it, no doubt.

Yooooooo let’s hang out!
a lot more of the guys wearing their hair this way surely are mangina-ish now than used to be. some guys prefer the natural look of long hair and a long beard while others don't. no biggie.

I rock the man bun on occasion but then again I don't care if anybody takes me seriously. I am going my own way after all ;)

those that would judge you on something like that are low frequency and are unimportant. having prejudices is fine but not about the length of one's hair.

Even the word itself is repulsive.
soy boys that are weak and deballed have girlfriends. chads are the ones that get laid on a regular basis whether in relationships or not and the legends which tend to be mgtow might be lucky enough to be chads and tyrones physically and getting all the snatch they could want but that is not their main focus. of course many of the legends aren't chads and thus not getting nookie on a regular basis .... which many don't give a shit about.

Kindly disagree. Thomas Edison could be considered a legend and was still married. Although to his credit the man was highly focused on what he did and didn't let the wifey bother him. He was quoted as saying that he owed part of his success by the fact that he never had a clock in his shop. Pretty much his wife had to revolve around him because at the end she benefitted from him.

... Euler. Women per se are not the problem. Culture is. To the extent you can - be the improvement, even if that means opting out.
women are potentially the problem no matter what but this kosher blessed system promotes gynocracy among other ills making women unfit to be wives, girlfriends, mothers,or to be protected. that goes for the tradthots as well.

Women are the problem. Whatever culture is, it is women who have failed men.
