Why the hell did the boss want someone else's wife AND kids to boot? Methinks a rich guy could easily attract a 20 year old. With no kids.

MGTOW, but just not in name. The term MGTOW is still being alienated by Npc's with a misinterpreted prosecution of having an agenda, which we don't even have at all seeing as though it's a individualistic ideology.

That's right. Just look at the statistics & realize you are probably not going to be an outlier. Think about how painful, expensive, time consuming & soul destroying the average marriage/divorce is & think that half of them are worse than that.

Growing up I didn’t have a single adult family member other than my grandparents whose marriage didn’t end in a bitter divorce and custody battle the mother won, including my own parents.

My grandparents were OG Catholic so stayed together and kept their vows ‘in sickness/health for the better or the worse’ seriously, even if it eventually meant decades of frustration, unhappiness and dissatisfaction with each other. When they reached their 70s my grandmother was planning on leaving my grandfather and living alone away from him (but not divorcing), until he got sick from cancer which eventually killed him. It makes me sad to think he might have gone through that alone if she did leave him before his condition worsened.

I know a few people in my family and my age or younger who have gotten married, and while I am happy they’re happy (for now), I can’t help but see through all the schmaltz and see it as an experience I wouldn’t want to volunteer myself for. It just looks like a big coming-of-age pageant showing off status to everyone else. I’ve learnt to keep my eyebrow raised at it. I’ve also seen how marriage is something too many male family members were emotionally blackmailed into proceeding with under threat of losing the women they loved. I don’t respect them for caving to it, especially after one of them divorced then whined to me that “She made me marry her!” - as if he didn’t have free will. He was just too afraid of being alone, and went along with it even though she was a terrible match.

There’s a stubborn part of me that simply will not abide that sort of manipulation, no matter how sugar-coated.

I wouldn’t necessarily describe myself as MGTOW, I’m ostensibly still open to friendships and romance with women while it elevates our mutual life satisfaction. It’s when her culturally-conditioned desire for the legal stuff starts making me feel like I’m not worthy of her respect or love until I acquiesce to my role as a law-enforceable material resource to her that I can see myself disengaging.

Marriage (can be, apparently) great up until the point it's not and then you're (proverbially) fucked. Marriage can also be a nightmare and then just get worse.

Single life is great.
