Why would stop doing something you enjoy because your mgtow. 90% of men love sex, you can be a successful mgtow and have sex still. Its pretty easy not to get trapped. That why two of the biggest mgtow influencers (sandman and mgtow 101) always say pump and dump. Sandman realised his weakness, when he dates, his inner simp rises up, which is why he has gone monk mode. If you can pump and dump without the blue pill coming out then your good. The whole point of mgtow is to teach people about female nature and stop them from getting manipulated. You will do things you want to do without a woman down your back. The world doesn't care about men, so its up to you to take care of yourself

Monk mode isn't the only MGTOW form. Mgtow is a spectrum from rejecting cohabitation, marriage, and long term relationships to monk mode aka no contact with women whatsoever.

I disagree. This reminds me of the Catholic priests who wanted to show how devout they were by not having sex the night before they were going to do a sermon. Soon, it became more nights and then everyone had to be celibate. It was like a contest of devout-ness.

If you want to be a monk then that's fine. But MGTOW, for me, is a set of choices having to do with protecting yourself and your assets from the fucked up laws that society poses. It's not about women and whether or not you have women in your life. A lot of the choices MGTOW make relate to how they want to have women in their life, or not, like never marrying or living with them, but it's not about them, specifically.

Having that being the bar for whether or not a person is a 'true' MGTOW is too narrow in scope, IMO.

Lastly, this kind of separation/differentiation within MGTOW is not good. You see it in politics where extremists try to get farther to the left or right of people in their own party so they can portray themselves as more authentic than other people in their own group. Soon, the group has in-fighting and is no longer focused on the things that matter to all of them.

I would like to see members of this sub supporting each other no matter what version of MGTOW each person is and for people to resist the idea of trying to 'out-MGTOW' each other for no measurable gain other than to make one's self feel better relative to others.

I respect your choices though, as a monk. I ask that you respect other people's choices as well. Don't think of yourself as better, or others as worse, or whatever. Just think of everyone as different, as the individuals that they are making the best choices for themselves and for their lived experience.

I feel like trying to create levels of mgtow gets kinda silly, for me it's sufficient with the Don't: Marry/cohabitate/have kids.

Otherwise, are we going to have a "don't talk to women" subcategory? Or a "walks around with a blindfold in public, in case he sees a women".

In the end I don't see a reason or anything to gain from dividing us further.

According to Vice writer Mack Lamoureux, there are five levels to MGTOW:[10]

Level 0 – Situational awareness: This is the lowest level of MGTOW. At this level, a man is viewed as having swallowed the "red pill" and thereby, MGTOW advocates claim men at this level "embrac[e] the idea that gender equality is a lie and propaganda."

Level 1 – Rejection of long-term relationships: At this stage, a man "...rejects long-term relationships but will still partake in short-term relationships and sexual encounters."

Level 2 – Rejection of short-term relationships: In level 2, a man does not meet women for "...hook-ups or any form of short-term or sexual relationships."

Level 3 – Economic disengagement: a member at this stage "...refuses to earn more money than is necessary for sustaining life. He views the government as tyrannical and is trying to actively drain money from the bureaucrats."

Level 4 – Societal disengagement: "Here the man refuses to interact with society any more than ever", such as by living "off the grid" (e.g. in a cabin)

Its low level PUA or lazy PUA more than MGTOW.
