Interesting evolution of this sub as of late (showing off expensive toys). I do not identify as a MGTOW, but I believe there is much wisdom at the base of the movement. Just a few observations about this sub that I have made that may be worth reflecting on for anyone who heavily identifies as a MGTOW.
-
Don't you think that there is a striking similarity between the crazy cat lady who treats her animals as children and MGTOW's who treat objects like motorcycles, boats, cars, as their children? Same mentality, different object of obsession.
-
I find it fascinating that an entire movement dedicated to going away from women spends the majority of their time discussing women. I check this sub frequently and I think 50% (being generous) of posts are about women attempting to justify the MGTOW movement. The irony is not lost on me.
-
Blatantly made up stories on here occur regularly. Where the story is so insane that I am just thinking - that probably didn't happen. This person is just using the platform and a made-up story to justify their ideology.
I figure these observations will be unpopular. First time posting. I'm not a troll. I'm not a women. I'm not broke and jealous. I believe in the majority of the principles at the base of MGTOW.

Thanks for the post. Probably the only reply on here that wasn't created with the hysteria of somebody who doesn't know how to handle challenges to their own ideologies.
I understand the need for re-affirmation.

I think he brought up a good point, which is why I said I appreciated the response. Surrounded by gynocentric ideology & breaking through that barrier may require constant re-affirmation for some people. Not for me personally, but I can see how some people need that.
I mean personally, I think if you need constant re-affirmation for your beliefs - you are weak. That doesn't mean that I can't accept or understand his post.

That line of logic burns my brain.
People that claim they are meaningless are liars attempting to be edgy. What is your argument against your own suicide if you believe that you are meaningless? I'm not encouraging you to kill yourself or trolling. I ask every single person that postulates their existence is meaningless and I believe it's an important question to answer before you come to that conclusion.

To be fair, posting here gets you banned everywhere else so I can see why OP made a new account for the post

I've said this a couple of times - but I wish people wouldn't focus on the terminology used to describe MGTOW. The definition you apply to it is unimportant. The underlying principles are the important pieces.

I'm not concerned for the people here. I am just pointing out things that I have noted after lurking for a long time. Just because they have been said before or addressed doesn't make them any less true or notable. You're right we'll never talk again probably.
Let me share an idea with you though that was shared with me many years ago and has occupied my thoughts from time to time and increases my mindfulness.
You're response seems rather visceral. Whenever I respond viscerally to anything when my beliefs are challenged - I pause and reflect on my own response. It doesn't mean I am wrong and need to change, but it's something to think on. What is so important about this belief that creates the gut-wrenching feeling to respond viscerally? Am I really so averse to challenging ideas that I cannot even consider the other point of view - why is that? Again - it doesn't imply that you are wrong. It just puts you in a state of mind better to make logical conclusions.
I'm flying off now!

The problem with your line of reasoning is that you don't believe what you are saying.
You cannot apply that logic to yourself. If you believe that your personal observations about the world are completely meaningless or worthless, then you are a massive simp.
