This is probably the bluepill inside of me speaking, but I can't seem to figure this out.
Since I was a little boy and going into when I was a teenager, I've always wanted a woman so that me and her could love and be there for each other. Even back then (about 9 years ago), I was reading things similar to what you guys are saying on this sub, that women aren't worth my time because eventually they all cheat or divorce rape you.
What you guys say makes 100% sense to me. The ideas that this subreddit and other online communities outside of Reddit that are similar to MGTOW believe have inspired me to focus on myself instead of on women. I've been saving and investing my money, and I'm currently living a financially stable life with very little debt. I'm worried that if I got a girlfriend, I'd have to spend a ton of money on her and whatnot to keep her around, all while she could be cheating on me without me knowing it.
But then there are the people like my older friends, parents and other family members that I see on a day to day basis that repeatedly tell me that what you guys are saying is wrong. They say that my thinking is selfish, that I should live for more than myself, and that I should be in relationships with women because some of the best times they've had were with women (not including sex) and that their wives/girlfriends are their best friends and whatnot.
This also makes sense to me too, because pretty much everyone that has said these things to me in person are doing well in their lives. They have nice houses, no financial issues as far as I know, and children with good heads on their shoulders. Only downside is that pretty much all of these people are in dead bedrooms at this point, but at this point I doubt they care as most of them are in in their late forties and early to mid fifties.
So I don't know who to believe. Both sides have good arguments, and there seem to be upsides and downsides for whichever path I choose to go on. So far, the MGTOW route has been working well for me, but I feel like in the future, I might end up lonely, and when I'm old I'll have no legacy or nobody to take care of me in my final days.
One of the reasons why this is so difficult for me to figure out is because even though both sides make sense, the MGTOW side is so negative. It makes it seem like men only want sex and women only want money, but the other side makes it seem like men and women are both inherently good and capable of loving each other, which is what I've always kinda wanted to have. I could be wrong but that's how I see it anyway.
Sorry for the somewhat long-winded post but I'm not that great at expressing myself through text. I think I said what I wanted to say though.
I'd appreciate anyone who could send some advice my way.
