I'll agree with 'one of' but 'top' only if they find themselves in a defensive war. That being said, soldiers aren't sent out into war completely helpless. They should be trained for the tasks required. They should have armor covering at least their vitals (helmet and vest). Everyone should have at least basic skills in triage with dedicated medics. Missions are done in groups or pairs. Infantry are typically trained not to engage without a 3:1 advantage (this of course is a pleasantry as well).…

Yes, everyone getting killed is a failed mission and always losing soldiers is a war of attrition you're bound to lose. You have a helmet and flak jacket to cover your vitals. You have medics. You have logistics supply chains and recon networks. You're pretty much always going out in groups or pairs. You try and be as safe as you can, so you can finish the mission. If the mission's done, that's all that matters in the grand scheme of things.

Oh, I know the channels for funding. I've been through them, but I've a problem with the accountability, or lack thereof with using a credit card. It always rubbed me the wrong way. Yes, I know you should have to provide a bill of materials and should run it by others whose job is managing accountability. Evidently, that doesn't stop misuse. I'm trying to isolate things to make it harder, if not impossible, to misuse. It's a bad habit of mine.

Urbana in Illinois is know for it's aerospace engineering. I did a summer camp before going to college for engineering (elsewhere though), and they seemed to know their stuff. Don't tell yourself "No.". I speak from experience that you'll see many unqualified idiots be accepted and praised within an engineering program. I've seen one guy run with them, but knew he was in the military. Probably just getting used to carrying the weight, and I can't blame him. That equipment easily breaks 75 pounds. Or so I've been told by vets. But when he ran with it, he was holding it in place, even though the straps were as tight as they could go. As for using it in exercise, you probably don't need it. You can run, hike and lift separately and it'd probably be better.

It's always interesting reading on different culture's histories, namely Greek for me. They had an interesting and relatively complex social system, but it was...easy to follow. I've found baking to be surprisingly easy. The best thing is to usually take Mechanical as the degree and then take minors or extra courses into fields for specializing. You get most everywhere with the mech degree, and you can be more skilled in a certain topic like ceramics, robotics or computer science. Too many people don't realize the instinctive dominance hierarchy in handling dogs.
