It's incredible how well these comics make me feel trapped with the relationship noose around my neck in just a few panels. Never been married but they always do such a good job of sending me back to the worst parts of my relationships.

Nothing worse then when you talk to a woman about how unfair your girlfriend or whatever is being and the woman proceeds to tell you why you're in the wrong .

I'll never forget my ex- girlfriend cheating on me and me desperately needing to talk to someone about it approaching my mom as she proceeds to mention something about the way I dress and carry myself .... A.K.A " Maybe if you would have been a better man you could've kept her interested"

As much as I love her I never forget she's just as much apart of Team woman as any other woman .

Towards the end of my marriage I was doing anything I could to save it. She was physically abusive and incredibly hateful but I hadn't given up hope.

Shortly after our separation we agreed to go to a counselor together. I had two sessions set up for the following month for us. At some point she became angry and told me she wasn't going, that I needed to go to the councilor by myself to fix my anger towards her (projection much?), and she wouldn't communicate to me for several weeks until then.

Despite me being the calm one trying to work things out and her being the vicious one, it was all my fault. Sure, I could have done some things better, but all the blame was not mine.

I cancelled the meetings with the councilor and just enjoyed a few weeks of not being yelled at.

It's now been months since we've spoken as we wait until the divorce. The peacefulness has been wonderful.

Therapy was worth it for me.

It was in therapy where I saw my ex-wife re-tell events and things that happened between us... Of which I had full knowledge of because I was apart of them.... I saw how she twisted the stories to maximize my being a bad person and minimize her involvement and look like a saint when she was talking to the therapist...

It scared the crap out of me. Because her lies and twists were not said in a bat-shit-cat-lady-crazy way... She was very credible..

I then realized that this woman has the power to literally fucken destroy me. If were were in court for false rape, abuse, child custody, etc... I can see how the system would believe her. I'd need irrefutable EVIDENCE to prove her wrong, and I have no such evidence and she could say anything she wants... On the tail end of a divorce... The saying that we all know.. Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn is real. So I feared for my future...

So i did my best to not piss her off until I was out of there. And that stung cuz there were things I wanted to say, things I disagreed with and etc... Extra costs that I didn't want to pay, but I just kept my mouth shut and I think it might have helped me avoid additional problems because I didn't arouse her anger/emotions which could lead to a potentially very undesirable abuse call to the cops in her heat of anger/emotional arousal...
