That is where you're wrong. Beyond a certain point, it becomes "our past." If you can't handle disclosure long before that point, you aren't a fit partner. It would be like keeping a huge amount of debt secret until you have been together 3 years and start talking about marriage. "Ok, so I have to tell you something. Now that you are highly invested in me and there is a good chance you will do anything to stop from letting your investment be squandered, I am now ready to tell you revealing truths that I purposefully hid from you as a means on entrapping you. At this point you will be expected to accept the humiliation and pain that comes with this revelation and my conscience will somehow be clean despite that I lied to you for years and you did nothing except love and cherish me as a prize. I'm still a prize though, I promise. The years I spent deceiving you somehow prove that."

Story time.

My ex pulled some shit like that. Now, I cut her some slack I would not have afforded other women because the way the relationship began was unconventional, but I always felt uneasy about it for years until she used my insecurity about it to get me to act in a way that justified her breaking up with me.

Way back 2012, I am dicking around online half drunk one October night while at college. I think to myself, what the fuck ever happened to chat rooms? I google chat sites, land on omegle, which I had never heard of, and start talking to a few people. After like 40 minutes of horny guys trying to get me to watch them jack it, I am about to give up when I start talking to a girl. We have a great conversation and strangely enough she gives me her number. I start texting her and she lives about 5 hours away. Somewhat disheartened because she is actually pretty cool for a chick, but keep texting. Eventually we start calling and skyping and developing some feelings. New Years Eve, I am kinda drunk, at a party in a friend's garage. There are like 2 girls there out of 14-15 people. One of them seems to take a liking to me. She is flirty with me and whatever and, having been fat all of high school, this was still kinda new territory for me. I was flattered, but I thought about how disappointed this other girl who I had never seen would be if I slept the girl at the party. I realized I had really serious feelings for this girl I had never seen and determined to try and make something work. It was right around midnight and I text her to say happy new year, subtly joke I missed getting a kiss because I was inside. She says she wouldn't have let me go kissless.

I felt like I was on cloud 9. I had had a girl or two briefly show interest in me, but never anybody who seemed to genuinely want me. I decide I want to go see my best friend who lives a few blocks away and hang with him. I drunkenly walk over and when I get to his place, it was just him and his dog, everybody else who hung out there had gone to some shindig. Man, I was elated to be able to hang just me and him. After another drink and some highly spirited conversation, I was just in complete euphoria. I was literally rolling on the ground laughing in pure joy at how great life was at that moment and the idea that this girl was genuinely into me and I knew when I asked her tomorrow if we could try and make some kind of relationship work, she would agree and it would be a wild and strange foray. My best friend said it was the happiest he had ever seen anybody in his life.

Next day went exactly as planned, she agreed over skype and it wasn't more than a week before she made plans to come see me. Things continued on for about 2 years long distance and although tough at first, we made it work. She then decides she wants to move out near me so we can do the thing for real. I was obviously excited, but also kind of worried. I started working a lot of hours in a job that was hard labor and the stress of the situation really got to me. I had never experienced anxiety like that and it really hit me and made me feel physically sick. I just pushed on without even realizing that I was having anxiety, I just thought I had stomach problems and was feeling strange sometimes for some unknown reason. I wound up having a bad panic attack which I thought was possibly a stroke until I got to the hospital. After that, I had a really hard time of life. I stopped eating and spent a lot of time inside.

Month into that, she calls me crying and tells me that that on that New Years, while I was rolling around on my friends floor, she was fucking some guy she met at a bar. She was apologizing profusely, but I was drained and it didn't phase me at first. As it set in, I got enraged and called her a whore and said it was the greatest betrayal anybody had ever enacted upon me. She continued apologizing and crying, but when I brought up her moving, she turned around and asserted she was still going ahead with the plans. I insisted it was not right and that I needed time to deal with this but she again made no indication that my putting it on hold was a valid reaction and refused to respect my stance. Obviously, I wanted it to some degree as well and after a few talks with some friends, decided that because of how things began and that it wasn't "technically cheating" that I could forgive it. I was hurt, but I felt I would get over it in time.

Fast forward and every year on new years, I can't help but sit around and kind of steam while thinking about it. I never went out on New years with her or anybody again. For the most part, I was over it after a few months though. I still always felt betrayed though and I could only trust her to a certain point, though that point was quite far imo. The fact that she never allowed me my feelings about it really bothered me though. She apologized, but it was like she wasn't willing to concede anything as penance for her misdeed. I was still to allow her to do mostly whatever she wanted, which I mostly didn't mind, and I was to basically just shove those feelings down inside and carry it around without them ever finding their way back to her.

Fast forward another couple years, we are living together and things are rocky, but seriously looking up imo. Not in her opinion, however. She starts staying out late more often, I look past it because she has new friends at her new job and all that. After a while, it starts to bother me, I ask her to please curb it to around three times a month. She says okay. Fats forward like a month+ and she has kept her word. Then, out of nowhere, she comes home at like 3am on a Monday. I had been up the whole time waiting, progressively getting angered as every minute beyond midnight passed. When she got home I probably woke up half the neighborhood blowing up at her. I told her if she didn't stop this, there would be consequences. I told her precisely why she should know she isn't trusted this far and how the fact she can't keep her word for more than 5-6 weeks only reinforces my distrust. I told her the fact that she thinks it okay to occasionally pour salt in a wound that I am still nursing is most of what has stopped it from closing. She goes another couple weeks not going out, then she comes home fairly late again and plays off my anger and disappointment as illegitimate feelings to be having. A few weeks after that, she comes home late again. Next morning, she gets a call her father is in the hospital. I am way too upset to give a fuck about anything at this point. I pretty much give her the cold shoulder, drive her to the airport and disengage. She goes ballistic when she gets home, starts telling me how awful I am not to be there for her. I explain to her that I am sorry, that I perhaps should have been able to put my feelings aside, but that I do not apologize for having those feelings and that they were 100% the result of her choices. I explain that every time she violated that, I felt just as alone as she did when her father was in the hospital and I wasn't attentive. She then went on and used this as part of her justification for breaking up with me a few months later. Years of deception, then demands that I ignore it, then abusing me for feeling that way, but I can't immediately get over another abuse on one occasion and I'm in the wrong.

If you actually stuck around to read this, I hope it has served you with the knowledge that women are not creatures of respect. Respect is for men. Females do not respect anything expect power and thus do not deserve your respect, only your lordship over them. This woman was absolutely one of the "good ones" as well. She really does have many fine characteristics, I wouldn't have gone through all of that if she didn't. In the end, her female nature overcame all of them.

I'm probably gonna get banned for this but I gotta disagree. I don't normally engage in this subreddit, I just read along, laugh and then talk about it with my fiance. But I've always been completely honest when entering a relationship, even if it's embarrassing because they might as well know before things get serious incase its a problem. So I just gotta disagree on the part where you claim all women are like that.

I think the n number should be exchanged like your sexual health and contraception use.

That way, hook ups are fine and you filter out the pump/dump material.
