Several years ago, we had a teacher from the middle school I used to go to kill one of her kids. The woman had a habit of leaving her kid in the car because she was lazy and the police had been called on her multiple times for child endangerment. One day, she ended up leaving her kid in the car in the summer and the kid died. They even had security footage of her going back to her car multiple times, yet not once did she acknowledge the kid.
The piece of shit prosecutor refused to do anything because "she just lost a child, she's suffered enough". Fuck that, she didn't lose a child, she murdered her child. People in the community were furious and she eventually moved away.
It happened here to a father a few years ago. He forgot the child in a car in the summer, the child died. Nothing happened. Would be interesting to see how different the situation would be if that had been the neighbour's child.
