Holy shit, that was so much drama.

I actually have a lot of respect for Serena as a player, and have compassion for her as she has always been a ferocious competitor, and here her emotions got the better of her. At the same time, there's simply no getting around the fact that for someone as experienced and as seasoned as she is, it's astonishing that she lost her composure so thoroughly.

She revealed herself ultimately to be a typical woman, shaming the umpire and playing the victim when things didn't go her way. She could've held it together and rallied after losing her temper and busting her racquet--the best all have their moments--but she just couldn't let it go, and she never regained her focus.

She completely ruined that poor young girl's experience of earning her first major grandslam title, and for that, perhaps she deserves the greatest ridicule.

Her own coach admitted afterwards that he was coaching but everyone does it so it should be Ok. Serena also tells the umpire that she can understand how he thought it was coaching but she would never do it. So 1st code violation is completely legit. Then she breaks her racquet on the court. Automatic code violation. No leeway there. So 2nd code violation is legit. Then she calls the umpire a thief and it doesn't matter what sport you are playing, you cannot disrespect an official, so 3rd violation is legit.

After all this she plays the gender-card. Fucking despicable. A woman that has had every opportunity on the planet to earn millions, be in the spotlight, get endorsements, and be a public figure. Nothing has been denied to her and yet when she's lost, she uses the gender-card. When was this oppression when she was winning?

And she obviously forgets that McEnroe was defaulted and sent off in the semis of the AU Open awhile back so it happens to men too.
