I 100% agree. Public education is about pumping out willing slaves for the corporations and government. Now they drug young boys who don't fit in as well, exposing their true agenda more.

Yet people still think public education is a good thing. Even most here will downvote you for calling out public education which shows we (society as a whole) are long ways away from breaking free of the brain washing.

That is why Junior Achievement exists... because the public school system doesn’t want you to understand money. In fact, I dont believe the teachers in public schools do either, otherwise they wouldn’t sign contracts committing them to work for poverty level incomes.

Junior Achievement has been teaching business and finances in schools for 100 years. Ive actually done some volunteering with them and its a lot of fun and you get to learn the kids curriculum!

When America first started getting behind the idea of public education the powers that be copied the Austrian model that was designed by Otto von Bismarck. Bismarck made sure the public school system turned out young men that were prepared to be factory workers and/or soldiers because that is what Austria needed at the time. America wanted mostly factory workers and soldiers as well.

Some questioned where they would get their scientists and engineers. From what I hear they asked Henry Ford what he thought. Ford said that there well always be Engineers available, they come from private schools and colleges turn out more of them than he could ever need, what he and the other industrialist needed was factory workers, not intelligent people that could make it on their own or in other fields, just people who were just smart enough to do a repetitive task in a factory day after day. If public education made them too smart they would get bored in their factory job and try and launch their own careers.

A lot of that still exists today. Public education exists primarily to make young people accept hierarchy, love your country, and get a grunt job all so you can feed taxes into the system and get married and produce the next generation of workers.

Most important skills aren't taught in school. They taught a lot but become unnecessary later on and people just forget all of that. If it's important for the profession then teach that in college, save a lot of wasted time in high school. Then again, majority of college degrees are worthless, outdated, they exist only to scam people.

Yep. Public education is garbage. Try to spend your time to learn things that will be important in your life.

I remember taking woodworking in high school wondering what I would ever use it for since I knew I was going into computer science. Since I became a homeowner I found that it's important to know how to repair wooden things. Such as door hinges where the screw has pulled out of it's hole and you can't fit a wider screw through the metal hinge plate. Or how to seal a hard wood door frame or deck panels to make it water proof so it doesn't rot any more than it is. Or how to take a stained wood door frame that has a lot of damage from dog claws, restain it and poly it to make it look even better than a brand new wooden door frame. All because it now has that naturally rustic, distressed, aged wood look that people pay thousands of dollars for. The kind of look you can't get on a new home or from the lumber yard. The kind of look that has many decades of wear and tear but is still holding strong because it's been been stained, sealed, and poly'd carefully so you can see the decades of wear and tear preserved beneath the sheen.

We do in Australia, im taking economics and in maths we covered investing and dividends ect. Pretty lucky to understand the power of setting aside money into high quality businesses at a young age.

If you manage to get into an elite school on a full ride where the firms you want to work for recruit it’s not a waste of time. Like wise for a technical education in an expanding industry in less well known school if you have the aptitude.

What I've realised down the mgtow rabit hole is there is an argument that everything is useless, what matters (after you've sorted food and shelter) is you are enjoying what you are doing. That maybe striving to learn about economics etc and be rich or for some it maybe learning art history in school. Your happiness is the standard you set for yourself.
